MoneySmart: An Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) initiative offering tips and tools to help make the most of your money

MoneySmart- Women’s money toolkit: A toolkits specifically to help Australia women manage their finances, make money decisions at key life stages and enhance their financial wellbeing. 

Free community support and counselling services

National Debt Helpline: developed by financial counsellors, this site has simple step-by-step guides explaining how to fix common debt problems. If you need more help, call 1800 007 007 to speak to a free and independent financial counsellor.

Salvation Army Doorways Program: We have joined together with the Salvation Army to provide you with tools and information to assist you in taking action early to manage your finances.

Family and Domestic Violence Support: 1800 RESPECT (1800 737 732) is a 24-hour hotline providing help for any Australian who has experienced, or is at risk of, family and domestic violence and / or sexual assault.

Beyondblue: For information on depression and anxiety and where to get help.

Way Forward: are a not-for-profit organisation that provide people in long term financial difficulty with help, strategies and information on how to get out of debt. If you have debts across multiple organisations, have the ability to pay some of your debts after covering your living expenses and your circumstances are unlikely to change for some time, call Way Forward on 1300 045 502.

Human Services (Centrelink): Information about Federal Government initiatives and  eligibility 

Job Access: helps people with disability, employers, service providers and the community to access information about services, financial assistance and workplace solutions.

Find Unclaimed Money: Simple search tools to find unclaimed money from banks, shares and investments and life insurance policies.

For small business support:

Australian Taxation Office (ATO) Small Business Assist: If you can’t pay your tax on time, get in contact with the  ATO as early as possible to find a solution before the debt becomes unmanageable.

Australian Taxation Office (ATO): Help for small business experiencing short term financial difficulty.

Small business help line: Established by the Australian government to provide one-on-one financial support. Call 13 28 46.
