Safe Custody
Vaults
Westpac has entered into an agreement to transition its Safe Custody vault services to Guardian Vaults, a specialist high security vault provider.
The transition will occur progressively throughout 2026, and customers will continue to have secure access to their items.
As part of the transition, customers may see changes to signage or branding at Safe Custody locations as operations transition to Guardian Vaults.
When a customer receives a letter from Westpac, they should be asked to read it carefully, as it outlines the timing of the transition at the location of their safe custody and the actions required.
Customers will be asked to contact the branch to schedule an appointment to access their Safe Custody box and to close the arrangement. Customers can then relate to Guardian Vaults to support their ongoing safe custody needs.
Branch
In conjunction with the vaults transition, a closure of Branch Safe Custody services will take place during 2026.
Customers will receive a location-specific letter advising that their Safe Custody facility at the relevant branch is closing and will no longer be offered at Westpac/ BankSA branches. The letter will outline the next steps they need to take.
