How to use Phone Banking

  1. Enter your Customer Access Number then press #
  2. Enter your phone/internet security number then press # 
  3. Select one of the following options:
  4. To end the call simply hang up.

General account transaction information

Press 1: Account Balances including loans and credit cards

  1. Select the account from the list presented
  2. Listen to your balance

Press 2: Last 12 transactions

  1. Select the account from the list presented
  2. Listen to your transactions

Press 3 THEN 1: Last 6 presented cheques

  1. Select the account from the list presented
  2. Listen to your last 6 cheques

Press 3 THEN 2: Search for a specific cheque

  1. Select the account from the list presented
  2. Enter the 6 digit cheque number and press #
  3. Listen to your cheque

Press 3 THEN 3: Stop payment on a cheque

  1. Select the account from the list presented
  2. Press 1to stop a specific cheque AND Press 2 to stop a range of cheques
  3. Press 1 to proceed
  4. Enter the 6-digit cheque number and press # OR Enter the 6-digit cheque number of the lowest cheque and press # and then press enter the 6-digit cheque number - of the highest cheque and press #
  5. Listen carefully to the confirmation message press 1 if OK to proceed
  6. Write down your receipt number

Press 3 THEN 4: Order a cheque copy

  1. Select the account from the list presented
  2. Press 1 to proceed
  3. Enter the 6 digit cheque number and press #
  4. Listen carefully to the confirmation message, press 1 if OK to proceed
  5. Write down your receipt number

Press 4: BSB Information

  1. Select the account from the list presented
  2. Listen to your BSB Number

Press 5 THEN 1: Statement ordering - transactions since last statement(mail only)

  1. Select the account from the list presented
  2. Press 1 to proceed
  3. Listen to the confirmation message

Press 5 THEN 2: Statement ordering - copy of most recent statement(fax or mail)

  1. Select the account from the list presented
  2. Press 1 to have the statement faxed OR Press 2 to have the statement mailed.
  3. Enter Fax number if requested
  4. Listen carefully to the confirmation message, press 1 if OK to proceed

Press 5 THEN 3: Statement ordering - specific date range (fax or mail)

  1. Select the account from the list presented
  2. Enter the "from" date and Enter the "to" date
  3. Listen carefully to the confirmation message, press 1 if OK to proceed
  4. Press 1 to have the statement faxed OR Press 2 to have the statement mailed.
  5. Enter the fax number if requested
  6. Write down the receipt number

Transfer Funds

Between BankSA accounts

  1. Select the "from" account from the list presented AND Select the "to" account from the list presented
  2. Enter the amount and press #
  3. Listen carefully to the confirmation message, press 1 if OK to proceed
  4. Write down your receipt number

Pay bills using BPAY

  1. Select the "from" account from the list presented
  2. Enter the amount in dollars and cents and press #
  3. Enter the biller code (appears next to the BPAY logo on your bill) and press #
  4. Enter the customer reference number or account number - (printed on your bill) and press #
  5. Listen carefully to the confirmation message, press 1 if OK to proceed
  6. Write down your receipt number

Other Services

Press 1: Change your security number

  1. Enter your new security number and press #
  2. Re enter your new security number and press #
  3. Listen for the confirmation message

Press 2: Current term deposit rates

  • You will be transferred to a Consultant who will provide these

Press 3: Interest earned

  1. Press 1 for the interest earned in the last financial year OR Press 2 for the interest earned in the current financial year
  2. Listen to your interest amount

Press 4: Foreign exchange rates

  1. Press 1 for rates at which the bank buys foreign currency OR Press 2 for rates at which the bank sells foreign currency
  2. Choose which currency by pressing the related number
  3. Listen for the rates

Press 5: Activate your card

  1. Enter your 16-digit card number
  2. Enter your 8-digit activation code

Press 6: Dispute resolution process

  • Listen carefully to the information provided

Handy hints

You can key ahead at any time if you know your selection:

  • 5 moves forwards to the next group of accounts
  • 6 moves backwards to the previous group of accounts
  • 7 for fast return to the main menu
  • 8 will repeat any menu
  • * to return to the previous menu or cancel a transaction

Important information

If you are registered for Internet Banking you are also registered for Phone Banking.

To access Internet Banking all you need is your Customer Access Number and Security Number that you use to access Phone Banking.

You will also need your Internet Banking Password. This is unique to Internet Banking.
