Worldwide Wallet Changes
Temporary Service Disruption
To allow for system maintenance, there will be a temporary service disruption on some services from 6:00am on 28 September to 1:00pm on 29 September 2024 (AEST).
During this time, you can continue to:
- Use your Worldwide Wallet card to shop in-store, online or over the phone
- Withdraw from ATMs using your Worldwide Wallet (in Australia and overseas).
During this time, you will be unable to:
- Load or unload AUD to or from your Worldwide Wallet.
- Activate a new or replacement Worldwide Wallet card.
- Transfer funds between your currency wallets.
- Set or change your Worldwide Wallet card PIN.
NOTE: Your card and digital wallet will continue to work for transactions in-store, online and at ATMs, before, during and after the service disruption.
How can I prepare for the service disruption?
Ongoing changes to your Worldwide Wallet
Change to funds transfers
From 30 September 2024, only you'll be able to transfer funds to your Worldwide Wallet from your eligible BankSA accounts.
Additionally, you’ll also no longer be able to directly transfer funds from other financial institutions to your Worldwide Wallet.
PIN number changes
From 30 September 2024, if your Personal Identification Number (PIN) is longer than 4 digits, it’ll be automatically shortened to the first 4 digits of your current PIN.
What this means for you
- If your current PIN is already 4 digits only, you don’t have to do anything.
- If your current PIN is longer than 4 digits, only the first 4 digits will be used as your new PIN for transactions from 30 September 2024.
How do I update my PIN?
- If you would like to change your PIN, you can do so via the BankSA App or Online Banking.
Change to payments using Samsung Pay TM
From 30 September 2024, you'll also no longer be able to use your Worldwide Wallet from your Samsung Pay Wallet.
- What this means for you
If you currently have your Worldwide Wallet added to your Samsung Pay Wallet on an Android TM device, you may be able to add your Worldwide Wallet to Google Pay TM on eligible devices.
To ensure you can continue to use your Worldwide Wallet, you should consider setting your Google Pay as your default payment app by 30 September 2024.
- What if I don’t have Google Pay?
If you don’t have Google Pay, you will be able to continue to use your physical Worldwide Wallet card wherever Mastercard® is accepted in-store, online and at ATMs.
