Changes to the Emergency Services Levy (ESL) NSW only
Important Update - June 2017
What is an Emergency Services Levy (ESL)?
The ESL charged by insurers and paid to the NSW State Government provides important funding to support the NSW Emergency Services agencies with resources needed to protect homes and save lives.
What’s changing?
The decision to remove the Emergency Service Levy (ESL) from insurance premiums from 1 July 2017 and apply a FESL via council rates has been deferred by the NSW Government.
This means that Westpac General Insurance Limited is required to continue to charge ESL on insurance premiums.
Your quote, new business schedule or your renewal schedule will display the amount of ESL you are required to pay.
